Is Maple Hardwood 5 ply any good?

So I was at the local depot checking out the different wood options they offer and I came across a special they have going on. It's 4x8 3/4" sheets of Maple 5 ply for a good price. The Birch they have in stock is .702 5 or 7 ply can't really remember. They also carry Auruco in .702 also in 5 or 7 ply. I'm trying to go with something lighter than MDF. So what do you all recommend?

The enclosure is for 2 SA-8 in 1.5 net and will be in my regular cab silverado in a wedge style enclosure.

yes its like half the price and just as light and sturdy and my next choice is maple if they dont have arauco...birch is nice but its price has inflated.

Sounds good, imma head down there and pick up a sheet. The price is good too!
