to run one sub off one channel of a 2 channel amp

IF I were to bridge it and run the sub that way, its too much power, plus with my 1 sub, I cant wire it to 4ohms anyway.

2 x 125W @ 4 ohms

2 x 175W @ 2 ohms

1 x 300W @ 4 ohms bridged

I have a 4ohm dvc sub...so it can be wired either 8ohms or 2ohms...correct?'

so...IF I wire it down to 2ohms, and put that on ONE channel ....will that work..

the sub is rated 175, so that would be PERFECT.

you'd only get half the input signal...if for some reason the bass was only recorded on the right side of the track and the sub was hooked up to the left of the amp you would not hear it...rare but in old recordings its possible

series the coils then bridge the amp...you should get about the right power

+ 1 channel on amp --> +VC1 --> -VC1 --> +VC2 --> -VC2 --> - other channel on amp

so IF I bridge the amp, and give it only an 8ohm load....I should get about 1/2 the power of the bridged 4ohm load.....or 150watts, which would work out good.....btw, this is only temporary until I get a new set of subs..and get my Memphis amp out of pawn

Bass is pretty much a mono signal. Otherwise everyone would need Stereo bass amps lol.

I know...now-a-days it is but if you go back to pre-70s recordings alot will have different instruments on different sides ... The Animals and CCR are two that I know of off the top of my head
