is it possible ? 8in sub to sound as good as a 10''

im trying to do some major wieght savings on my car

I went from a L7 15'' (huge box ) rattled my trunk way too much

12'' type x ( small box but heavy as hell still rattled my trunk

12'' type R (small box ) it is much lighter but still rattling

now i have a 10'' in a small small box almost no rattling and hits hard

but its a crappy JLw0 which is soon gonna die i been pumping it too much

should i just replace it with another light 10'' subwoofer

or should i find a light 8'' but would it sound as good as a 10'' or not nearly

i just want some decent bass

Yes an 8 can sound just as good as a 10, sometimes better depending. I would stick with the 3/4" though if you want a beefy 8".

Why not just use some sound deadening to eliminate those rattles? It's very effective, and you could still have a decent sized sub.

The new Stereo Integrity Mag 12" only ways in at 20 lbs and will sound great in a 1 cubic foot box, which is also very small.

This makes no logical sense, so don't listen to it. RL-i8 in 1.25 cubes ported to 32hz will be what you want.

well you see its not my trunk but more my rear deck it has 3 lawyers ofmetal it will always rattle

my trunk is shaved and it has nothing in it at all so its decent but from inside the car u can hear the metal rattlng in the rear deck.. its just all the air moving around.

i noticed the smaller the sub/box the less rattle so as long as i can make a small setup sound like a big setup im golden

the w0 sounded amazing no one EVER guessed it was a 10'' more like 2 12's but it died after 3 months of use i think i pushed it too much

and as for rattling its the rear deck its just a *****
