It seems like more people on here either like 12" speakers and 15" while most people i talk to like my friends, they like 10" speakers. Wats so great about having 2 or 3 10" speakers in ur car compared to having 2 12". I always like 12" speakers the most because ima big bass man but sq is always good though..wat other reason though

they're cheaper........

i'm a big fan of large drivers myself

techincally, if all sizes are installed correctly, there will be no change in 'sq', just more output, and more 'energy' in the lows/suddent impacts the larger the driver

It has nothing to do with sound quality. Most of the time, it has to do with space requirements. I only really had the room for a single 12 when I purchased my sub. That was the deciding factor for me because 12s and 15s can sound every bit as good as 10s.

yea im with you on this one but yo there some people i know that have just about the same exact size of my trunk and still think 3 10" will sound beter 2 12" i just cant wait till the winter is over to put my system in and everyone will jump on the band wagon..my thing is this, if u have the trunk space use it:yumyum:

also restrictions in heigh/width/depth

i have pretty much only used 15s, but because the next car is smaller... it wont accomidate the 15s so i opted for some nice 10s

they'd sound pretty similar

3 10's would probably have a little bit better high end extension, where the 12's would have better low end extension

but even that's too driver/install dependant to be a general rule

I had the same problem, going from a Explorer with 4 15's and 4 12's to a little nissan. i opted for a pair of 10's in a fiberglass box to save as much room as possible.

you can make a large 18 sound just as decent if not better than 3 10's or whatever, it's all finding the right driver, building the right box, and using the correct power (clean power helps too).......it's ussually fun when 1 18 stomps (3) 12's or other things like that, while still sounding good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
