okay the real question is, what kind of trouble can you get into if you drop shit on the freeway. i dropped a pretty big card board box on the freeway (fell right off the bed of my pick-up) and it hit one of the cars in the middle lane; i was in the slow. is it possible if they reported it and if they did, what kinda shit am i gonna face? or im just trippin.

If no damage was done it would be littering. Law says any cargo in the bed of a automobile moving should be secured down.

I don't think they can even get you, unless a good samaritan on the highway wasn't on their phone, fiddling with their radio, drinking or eating some food, yelling at kids..and noticed you, and then felt compelled to call the police on you.

If there are cameras, you may wanna go ahead and say "my bad".

i wouldnt even worry about it. if something did happen, just be like "oh, well i didnt even notice, sorry." only thing you will do by turning yourself in is make one officer very happy.

If you are that worried about it just call the local county tell them what happened and let them know that you could notpull over due to traffic. Just let them know what happend. If it was reported you will get off easier if not they will probally laugh at you for being so paranoid (I would be too) and let it go. Its better to assume they know and call them then to assume they don't know and hide the fact.

If you are confident that no damage was done and no one was hurt I would not bother calling. If you are uncertain I would call and take responsibility for the scene. Chances are you'll be fine even if it was reported.

To answer your question no you have not commited a felony. Worst you will get is a ticket for littering but under the circumstances I beleive you will be just fine. Sometimes its better to get shit off your chest.
