Is external bracing possible?

Wood bracing, window preferred, is good but window is out since its already built.

Internal bracing is never preferred because it has potential to increase turbulence reducing spl.
Thats why people use threaded rods instead of wood the round shape has much less of an impact via turbulence then a 2x4 or most other pieces of wood.

as for the internal bracing reduce spl, I'm saying that will be situational. If the box flexes the crazy, then bracing will improve SPL. If the box is completely solid to begin with and barely has enough airspace then yes more bracing will reduce a score.

That used to be true until people realize threaded rod needs a lot more than just rod, washers and nuts to keep panela extremely rigid.

This is why many are converting to pipe bracing.

Many cheap out and get the flanges at lowes but the good flanges are online that have up to 8 mounting points per end on pipe.

With threaded rod, you need, as i stated before, steel plating.

otherwise, the radiating area of bracing is about 3" by itself which is waste of money...

the whole thing is a waste of money.

pipe bracing is better and a lot cheaper.

After that, it's mostly addition to or only steel.

Lowes has 1" x 10' piping for $21.

Their flanges will "work" but for extreme use, better to get flanges online.

I cant get time to post links... mobile throughout the day.

I just gave you plenty of information. I dont spoon feed people information.

That's what makes people lazy.

If you cant find it, i dont know what to tell you.

op get ahold of some light weight flat bar to tie the ends of the all thread together. if you cant then get ahold of the largest fender washers you can ive used this method and it worked fine for me and takes up virtually no air space.

Sounds like u built a POS box and u should just throw it away and build a nice strong box with internal bracing.

My cpillar wall with 4 18s hardly has any bracing and it doesn't flex. Triple baffled and the port wall acts like a brace.

If you can't provide a pic or two of a simple pipe bracing as we asked for then I'm calling you out. Its simple really. You seem to know and have pics....put them up.

We have no idea what pipe bracing is, googled up, hit up smd, MAF, CACO is down. All nothing popped up. Its not like we dont check to see if you are Bullsh*tting or not via research man. Searches come up blank. Is it a pvc pipe? steel pipe?

It's carbonfiber piping...what were we thinking!!

(Ok why the hell isn't Thanks Likes and Dislikes showing up on the bottom of my replies?)
