Is anybody rocking a car sub on their home theater system?

I currently have a peavy 800cs amp bridged on a JL w6v3 12" and it sounds nice. The only issue is that the amp is fully blasted and only puts out about 500 watts vs the supposed 800 watts. Anyhow it sounds really good but the JL is actually my vans sub but since I store the van over winter I brought it in. So I want a permanent sub and am considering a 15" or maybe even a 18" in a ported box facing down with a side facing port. Anyone doing something similar? If so post some pics and or share ideas , thanks .

Nice! My denon sub that came with my hts faces down and is on legs with a horn in it. It's nice but I wanted more and still want more. There are crown amps that will rock for about 200$ to 250$ that I am looking into

I have a Lanzar Opti1232d in about 4 cf tuned in the mid 20s. Running it is a bash 500s. It's stupid loud in a smallish living room. Plays super-low. Only problem is it rattles windows and pictures on the wall a lot during movies.

Nice ! And that's what I want... Those lows . I'm thinking of an 18" and low tuned box.

For several years I used a pair of original Kicker Competition 10's in an isobaric enclosure with a Hifonics Ophelia dual 10 band stereo EQ/crossover feeding into a Hafler home amp bridged at 300w.

I only changed to a regular home theater sub so I wouldnt have so much equipment spread around the living room (and the iso box was oversized, probably near 3 cu ft), because I found a closeout on a Velodyne 12" sealed servo sub for nearly $1k off list.

The Kickers actually went deeper and sounded louder.

My dad has a old style JL audio w6 10 that I gave him in his home theater system. His original KLH subwoofer blew and asked me if I had anything that would fit in the box. Even with the JL wired at 12 ohms, it is easily twice as loud as the old sub. And sounds better too.

L5 12 in my garage. Was using my dads old sharp optonica reciever on it, but turned it up too loud a few weeks ago and I get no output from the reciever now.

Now I'm using it on a radio that's probably about 30 watts in the garage

Used to use my old shocker 2 15s back when I was a teenager too young to drive, and after that I used a pair of cerwin vega 18s in a huge ported box in my closet.

My parents, or the neighbors didn't like it very much lol

Before I even had a car when I was about 14 or 15 I already had 3 boxes in my room . 12"s , 10"s and 10"s. I kept going thru receivers and then I finally went to the store and talked to someone who told me I needed a 4 ohm receiver. I then got a Technic receiver that had 4 ohm option and never had another problem again. This may be why your system stopped working.

Your W6 12 should easily get you where you are at with a properly designed box. Box design for car audio is completely different from box designs for home audio. You might need to get into tapped horns or folded horns Or 4th order horns.

Ya I used to take my dads subs starting back when I was about 9 years old. I can remember having a Pyle 12 from him down in my room in the bass net in 4th grade.

I know I blew the reciever by running the kicker at 2 ohms on it though.
