ok so i totally loved my jvc kd ar-880 head unit but i think its time for a serious sq upgrade. i am the type of person that loves a crisp clean sound with loud volumes. i grew up listening to extreme sq due to the fact that my father is a home audio addict and has a huge sterio in our basement. ita all Mcintosh amps with alets speakers horn loaded compression drivers, the whole get up. i love loud music and it HAS to be clean. right now i have the jvc as my head unit and its going to a Mcintosh amp for mids and highs(mc 440m) i was seriously looking at either a nakamichi or the eclipse CD7200 mkII as prolly the last unit i will ever buy. i dont want to spend more then 450$ and its gotta be a single din. is the eclipse worth it?

I would recommend going out to find an eclipse dealer first to look at the headunit. I love the functions and interface on my cd7000, but i don't care for the motorized face, the way the face attaches to the unit (kind of flimsy), or the cheap plastic feel of the knobs. The Alpine i used to have was superior in all these aspects. Maybe consider the 9887 as well.

i personally own the 8443...its older i know, but it sounds amazing. there are so many adjustments and fine tuning you can do to it. it will take weeks for you to tune it to your liking. The 7200 has even more options, and i like dead heads for installs for some reason. read some reviews on her, i know there are a few guys out there who run the 7200

We sell eclipse, kenwood, sony, and clarion. The eclipse has some of the nicest sq, and has alot of control. From what I understand, nakamichi is'nt what they used to be. I have the new eclipse 5030 and its got a 7band eq for front rear and sub, time alignment using the bluetooth mic, and the 5v preouts, indivudual crossovers, and some other things. Not as good as the old eclipse 8v's. As far as sq and everything goes, the cd7200 is a badass unit, but it does feel cheap and I dont like the way the screen looks. The 5030 feels much nicer, but lacks some of the things the 7200 has.
