Is an amp even worth getting in my situation

I just a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500. I came into this with a $300 budget(I know, I'm cheap). I found out I have a buddy who can order straight from Infinity, so the prices I am about to list are what he can get the speakers and amp for. That is the only reason I really added an amp, because before that expensive cable I was only a little over budget, the I added the cables...

Would this system I have right here even sound better then if I just went without an amp and let the headunit power the speakers? I know it will sound better, but is it $200 difference? I would love someone to convince me otherwise. and sorry if I'm asking this in the wrong place
