Is amber illumination extinct?

Hi all-- new to the forums. My stepdaughter has a 2002 Toyota Celica and wants a head unit that will match the amber/orange dash lighting. I've looked all over and everything nowadays seems to be blue or some strange combination of blue and other stuff.

When I searched the forums, I found one thread with a recommendation for Eclipse, but she doesn't like the way those look even though they're great performers. Any suggestions for me? I know that some of the 2005 model alpine decks had the "amber" option.

You just have to find it and select it.

You won't be connecting a data card or flash drive to those.

an alpine 9855 can change colors...Or look into nakamichi, though she probably will not like the Nak deck because its not that flashy (visualy) but a very exceptional piece of audio equipment.

i wish the 9887 had an all amber option. and an all green option. how hard would it have been to add that?

Those colors would have made sense, the whole red/amber combination does not. I would have happily given up that color for the classic green.....

Thanks for the replies-- she's now changed her mind somewhat and would be satisfied with an iPod-ready deck, since USB and/or SD capability is not very common.

My alpine 9835 was changable, and one of the main colors is amber. But the Ipod interface was quite the best at that point, maybe try something from the next generation.

That 9855 is nice-- kinda hard to find, though since it's an older model. There's a couple on eBay right now, but don't know what condition they're in.

Really? 500...? didn't know it was that many, cool.

it only has 500 for the 4 button next to the volume knob. the rest of the buttons (like the 1-6 presets and stuff) only goes green or amber.

neither have the usb or sd card options (at least the 05's didnt)

9855 still uses the KCA-420i

The KCA-422i is tits but the decks have sucked that used it, up until the 9887
