I have a friend that got a red top for free for hardwiring a radar detector. It's 960 CA, and he said he'd sell it for $40-50 bucks. Good deal? I don't NEED a battery, but im going to be putting in a system soon and if its a good deal, it wouldn't hurt

yeah, i haven't seen the condition of it yet, he said he started his car with it, and it was on the charger at home as we spoke.

anyway you can test a battery to see it's condition besides voltage

if its on the charger he beat the battery bad man...well its up to you ...i say a red top brand new is about 140 at the store so its up to you...but its deep cycle..you can recharge it with out leaking...i think it is...the yellow one is for sure...."i know that", but the red top "not sure". good deal though...look at it first and start it up and see how long it last

for car audio i rather go with a yellow top...im looking for one too... the smaller ones though....the yellow tops...or i will go with a stinger battery...they range from 250 at the stores...
