is a Kicker KX800.2 amp to powerful for component set speakers

I have a Kicker KX800.2 amp and I want to hook up a component set wich includes 2 6" speakers (150 watt peak), 2 1" aluminum tweeter (300watt peak), 2 passive crossovers. I was wondering if this amp is to powerful?

yes, but with the gain low, the crossover set appropriately and some common sense use of the volume knob it will work fine.

nah I dont think you can ever have to much power.

I drove a set of CDT and Infinity refs of a Rockford rated at 220rms per channel and never had a problem. I play my music very loud and that 200~ watts really made the mids come alive

My Focal comps are rated at 75RMS, but they're taking just over 200 (227) from my Punch75 with no problems. With my Focals, they don't really start "coming alive" until around 150RMS.

Just make sure your gains are set appropriately and that you're not clipping or going too insane with the volume. Having all of that extra headroom is a Very Good Thing ™ if used properly.
