I truly believe that installation & tuning are what makes or breaks a system. Heck, even the stock midrange speakers in my 2002 Nissan Maxima sounded way better after I properly treated the doors. That was my first audio related modification to that car. As I knew that would be key to good sound. That was before I knew exactly what I was going to put in there.
I wanted to add that those processors are taking a signal that has already been run through another DAC. You could run an optical signal into some processors, but not all.
