Is 3/4" MDF actually 3/4"

Just curious before I start planning. I know a 2 x 4 isn't 2" by 4.
a 2x4 is actually 1.5"ish by 3.5"s ish because when it is made, it is rough cat at 2x4 then planed down. MDF is man made and not naturally occuring in nature as far as i know so its what it should be since it doesnt need ot be planed.

Well I have a sheet of 5/8" MDF. It's just for 2 13w1's with little power, so I should be alright.

Anyone want to check my math for my cutlist?

Box is 33" wide x 13" deep x 16" High

Cutlist based on 5/8" MDF

2 pcs 33" x 16" front and back of box

2 pcs 33" x 13" top and bottom

2 pcs 14 3/4" x 13" sides

Not gonna work if you want it to be 16"h and 13"d. Might want to subtract the 1.25" of thickness from somewhere //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
