ok when i have my ipod in my car, i leave the ipods volume on 100%, and adjust the volume thru the HU, works fine.

im just curious, im sure it would distort, but in iTunes, for each song you can go in and adjust the volume, and from -100% to None(center) to +100%. default is None (the center)

has anyone put it on 100% and tried it on their system? im not adjust the ipods EQ or anything (like bass booster, etc) just the volume adjustments.

im just curious if anyone has done it, my pc is slow or else id change a few songs and go try it myself, but i dont want to have to come back in, load up itunes, and put them back cuz my PC ***** balls.

lol

discuss.

Well I know on a stock stereo I need to keep the iPod abot half way and than take the rest with the headunit, I tried it out at this shop with aftermarkets and it handled pretty well with the iPod at 100% and taking the headunit up and up but I would still think that if you lowered the iPod to maybe 90% and blasted the headunit that you will get better volume but Im not totally sure if it would be like that will all headunits, the ones I tried did need to be just a tad. just my thought

well i just tried it, on some songs you can notice the increase pretty good, and it doesnt distort...im not sure how its gonna work with subs, but for now i have all my ipod songs on +100% and on 100% volume, and my HU i put on volume 44 out of 60, and it sounds hella loud and good, and doesnt distort in the least (boston pro60s, and JBL 6x9 rear fills)

ill try it out on a sub one day and if need be, ill lower it back down

i actually made a post on roe i think....and it was just talking about how i didnt think it was that loud....what do i have to go into, to adjust the songs.....i think this will help me a lot.
go into iTunes, select the songs (one u want to try, all if u want to do it to all of them) and right click, click Get Info, then go to options, and youll see Volume Adjustment

Help me out here?

*EDIT*

Nevermind the above statement... YOu guys are re-encoding your MP3's at a higher volume //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/suicide.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif silly me.

Why not just get a good MP3 from the git go?

no, i put it around 44 to 45ish...i just dont like going higher, i can prally go to 50ish then it starts getting harsher, and prally around like 55ish itll kinda distort, not bad though, it mainly just gets harsh.

and to the other guy, im not doing it becuase my mp3's ****, im just doing it to see how it sounds...if i dont like it, ill change it back, but so far i do. before they were loud as hell anyways. i get all my albums from torrents, etc. i download few songs from limewire.

also, im not sure if ill need the ipods volume all the way up to get loud on my pioneer with the pioneer ipod harness, but on my Nakamichi, its just a plain old AUX input, and i just have the red/white cables to 3.5mm cable to connect my ipod. its not an actually "ipod" input like on most newer HU's out now. idk if it will be different when i hook up that ipod module for my truck (pioneer 880)

ahh Gotcha....I dont see any different between the harness and the AUX input besides the harness will display information from the iPod like song title or anything. But I could be wrong so please correct me if so
