iPod users: how do you rip your cds?

I use mp3 @ 320 for rap songs, Lossless AAC for everything else.

Well, if I rip my cds to a lossless quality, put them on the ipod, and use a full speed cable to my headunit, will the quality not be the same? The headunit should be doing the processing so long as its using the full speed cable, correct?

True...but the point is which does the digital to analog conversion? Certainly a higher end HU will do a better job of processing the data than an iPod would.
