ipod to older Eclipse HU ?

I am a newbie wondering if it is possible to connect an ipod to my older (~1998) Eclipse HU. The Eclipse 4421R does not have any aux outs, but it is connected to an Eclipse 5961 in-dash CD changer. I don't care about controlling the ipod through the HU, but not sure how I would select the ipod since the only choices on the HU are Tape, FM/AM, and CD/MD (no aux). Any ideas from the experts out there ? I know a new ipod-friendly HU is not that expensive, but I want to keep the in-dash CD changer, which I doubt a new HU can control...
