DO all Ipod work with these new head units that say ipod ready? i have a first gen 20 gb one from years ago . My friend told me that it has to be a newr ipod to work with a ipod ready deck just wondering if this is true

most decks are ipod ready via ipod cable. Butthe trick is finding one with the ipod interface on the deck so you can select songs from your HU. I wonder if they make some for the ipone/ ipod touch yet.

Check the manufacturer's listings of which iPods and software versions get supported. This is hardly a one-size-fits-all situation at this time.
