ipod noise..??

When using my ipod with my avic f900bt i get random chirps/squeals etc from time to time.. when using anything else its not there.. any help? how can i get rid of it? I like using my ipod so i would prefer anything involving keeping it before saying ditch it..

Mine did the same thing. Never knew of anything to remedy it.

Are you using a peripheral (brand) ipod connector?

mine did this.

the problem was on my ipod the EQ was set to bass booster, i just turned it to none and hooked it up and it worked.

Are you just looking for help on the settings on the iPod?

Mine is hooked up to an Alpine CDA-9887 via a specialized high speed iPod cable. It's also a 30GB video that pretty much lives in my glovebox unless I add songs to it via my laptop and iTunes. I make sure all the settings are "flat", no EQ and sound to minimum.

If your deck has the option, turn the charging feature off while listening to music. My Avic d3 made this noise while charging. Hope that helps.

contact i pod store and for $60 bucks the replace your old one with a reman so you have a new screen like new ipod. it is a new case but reman internals.

starting on the main screen top.. i need to get to eq on a 30gb ipod.. if someone would walk me through that would be cool.. i will just listen for the clicks

OK, I'll give it a shot.

Hit "Menu" a few times to make sure you are on the main menu.

Moving clockwise on the wheel, 7 clicks should get you to "Settings"...press center select button once...move counter clockwise on the wheel several clicks to make sure you get to the top of the settings menu...moving clockwise on the wheel, 8 clicks should get you to "EQ"...press center select button once...move counter clockwise on the wheel several clicks to make sure you get to the top of the EQ menu...the top of the EQ menu is "Off"...press center select button once.

That should do it as far as the EQ is concerned. Try that first.
