iPod interface for Eclipse CD8455?

I'm aware that there exists an iPod interface for the CD8455, by Peripheral if I remember correctly. I just ordered an iPod video and I probably am going to want to pick one up, but there's a few questions...

1) In general, how is it? Annoying and clunky or smooth as silk?

2) Can you control it entirely from the deck?

3) Can I still use it even though I have Sirius?

4) What is included? Just a box and a cable or two?

5) What should I expect to pay?

6) Where can I buy online?

If anybody can help at all, I'd appreciate it!

I have one on order, but its pairing up with a CD7000, so I'm not sure yet.

I was told that weird stuff goes on when you use the Ipod adaptor plus satellite (I guess the bus has one input that supports ID tag info (so the satellite or Ipod) and one that doesn't (so a changer input, which if the satellite is using up the id tag one, the Ipod has to replicate a changer (bad interface).

Not sure how it works out with the older gen stuff, Crutchfield usually has the information online for the newer models (I think its CD5000 that is comparable).

Theoretically speaking it should work, but only if the Sirius tuner is in line as well. It will see the iPod as a generic interface rather than 3 sets of Sirius. I understand this to work well with the AVN series, but no text info.

So, sounds like it will work, but I won't get any text on the screen, correct?

OldOneEye: From what I gather by your post, I might have different results depending on how I set up the daisy chain from the deck to the Sirius box to the iPod box, yes?

Thanks for the advice guys! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I just asked about using the Ipod and Sirius with a CD7000, I would double check with Eclipse to make sure this applies to other guys. So yes, it does matter which way you connect (but if you don't have a satellite tuner, its all good).

Suprisingly I think when I saw them at work(CC) I think they were cheaper...

Well, in any respect I should be completing my order for one of these units today, and take delivery sometime next week, when I will try and become the first pioneer to try out one of these iPod units on a CD8455 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
