I believe iphones are quad band but cannot use 3g freq for any other carrier xcept att so minus well be tri-band.. I have one for TMobile. works great.

um, no

not these.. well if you do the update apple puts out it'll un-jailbreak it and lock it back. but if you don't update and you have an unlocked one, it works.

3G ones aren't unlockable. these are still unlockable, therefor usable on other carriers, as long as there's a SIM card involved.
