Hi,
I have a Kenwood KDC-X693 head unit in my car, and I have been using it with my iPhone 3GS for the past few months with no problems or issues. I don't use the head unit's iPod controls-- it's all in the "iPod by hand" mode so the navigation, track selection, and whatnot are controlled on the iPhone.
I updated my iPhone to the new 3.1 OS yesterday, and it seems to have broken the USB compatibility with my head unit. I was wondering if anybody else has experienced this, and if so if they have figured out a workaround.
When I plug in my iPhone via the usual USB/iPod cable I get confirmation on both ends that it is attached-- the iPhone does its little *chirp* and the head unit starts connecting. When I play a track on the phone however, the head unit displays "No Music Data" on the screen. The track is definitely playing on the phone, but no signal is going out to the head unit.
Like I said-- this all worked perfectly earlier this week before the iPhone 3.1 update. Can anybody else comment on whether they've seen this behavior?
Thanks so much!
