i just bought a pair of massive cw's and was planning on inverting them since the magnet looks like its made to show off, but i see now that im not sure how i would. if you notice the cw's have a ring around the sub that makes it hard to mount to the box with creating an air leak.

anyone have experience with this before? anyone invert the cw's before?

thanks.

Which is why you mount them on a separate baffle in the normal fashion and then screw that baffle to the box with the magnets facing out making sure to seal with silicone or whatever. Then you make a trim panel that covers the backs of the screws that are coming through where the sub is mounted. Effectively the subs are mounted from inside the box.

i tried to remove the gasket ring, but when i attempted to remove it, it seem like that gasket ring was holding the cone and surround to the bracket.

thanks for the help

remove the gasket ring and place it back in reverse. that way it be easier.
lol, uh hey man that beauty ring on that particular sub actually is what holds the cone in place since its not put together with glue. Its a recone cartridge replaceable subwoofer, you have to mount it from the top or make a baffle as was suggested earlier.

great subs though IMO, I loved mine!

ive been looking around and i found them inverted on the massive site..

yea. i guess you gotta pick which one you like more. lights or magnets. i say its a win-win either way. unless you have a port and then your port will have a little glow..

i would say more spl. they definitely hit nice and hard. soo hard that most of my truck rattles, even they backseat a/c vents, especially with some of the bass tracks i have. and right now they are only running off of 1000d amp. these subs are rated for 600rms and 1200max each.

i love the subs though. im 100% satisfied with what i paid for.

are you looking to get some in the future?
