Would a class or set up of classes that appealed to the average stereo user appeal to anyone? How I was thinking was making it more realistic for the average user to compete and actually be competitive. Instead of appealing to ALL OUT competition with 100's of lbs of wire and batteries you wouldn't drive a car with I was considering others thoughts on systems based on what an average consumer would buy, install or get installed. Instead of cars with 2-4 amps with outrageous power limit the classes by wire runs, wire size, a battery limit and limit the fusing to the actually wire size and length.

(Class 1) 1- 800 c.i. battery (no telcom or more than 6 cell battery, regular agm or wet cell), 100 amp fuse, 1 run 4 ga wire. Vehicle configuration must be stock or stock like. NO folding or removing seats. limited to up to, 2-10, 2 12's or 1 15"

(Class 2) 1- 800 c.i. battery (no telcom or more than 6 cell battery, regular agm or wet cell), 300 amp fuse, 1 run 0 ga wire. Vehicle configuration must be stock or stock like. NO folding or removing seats. limited to up to, 3-10, 2 12's or 2 15"

(Class 3) 2 -800 c.i. battery (no telcom or more than 6 cell battery, regular agm or wet cell),up to 300 amp fuse, 2 runs 0 ga wire. Vehicle configuration must be stock or stock like. folding or removing seats, blow throughs and walls permited. limited to up to, 6-10, 4 12's, 4 15" or 2 18".

ALL propper fusing to power wire must be used. Meaning proper fuses must be within 18" of battery (length of the power wire from the battery and secured) and propper fuses in the back must be within 24" (power wire length from the amp/amps) of the amp/amps. Under hood fuses are a must to run if they are not secured safely or are too far from the battery that will be used as the tie breaker. Propper fusing on second battery is also a must (meaning fuses in correct compartment will allow you to run BUT again if length is too far it will cost you a tie breaker) All classes battery must be in stock location and propperly secured. Class 3 second battery can be up front under the hood or in back with the amps. MUST be secured , no sitting it on a floor board or seat. ALL SUBS MUST be behind the B pillar as well as any part of the box (port included) boxxes must also be secured as well as amps.

Does this sound appealing to anyone?

2 15s would almost always dominate this class.. might be a bit of an unfair advantage..

but yeah if something like this was anywhere near me i would compete..

it would be nice to feel as if i still had a chance to do well (with a single run of 4 guage and 2 12s for example)

there is already enough classes, and different types of comps to accomodate the average joe. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

people that compete and are established in the org they like wouldnt like this..but thats not what it is for its to strike up intrest in comps so people who normally wouldnt get into do to see what its like or for people who like it but arent too serious and wont try it because they would be intimidated by seeing someone with 6000 watts in the smallest class

I dunno...I would kind of have to agree with neonrt. MECA & DBDrag already have some classes designed to draw in the average street beater and, if the system is truly "loud", they'll be relatively competitive.

If you really wanted to do something to draw in the average guy.....drop classes altogether and just hold an "open mic" night where they can have something like 3 runs for $10-$15. Keep the rules regarding mic placement/etc consistent with one of the current orgs (such as DBDrag). That'll give them a taste of what it's like to run on a mic in a some-what formatted event (regarding mic placement/etc) and general competition for bragging rights and such.

IMO most of the guys it sounds like you are trying to draw won't really care about what class they'll fall into, or even having to worry about having certain classes (and if they do...then there's already a class in one of the current orgs that they'll easily fit into). Most of "your crowd" either 1) wants to prove they've got the loudest system on the street, or 2) is simply curious about what they are hitting and what that's comparable to in relation to the other street beaters.

You have to figure...most of the people that would fall into your target audience would either get bit by the bug and quicly outgrow the format creating very high turnover or stick with your org and push for higher classes/rule changes/etc....at which point you'll just turn into another DBDrag/MECA.
