interior lighting

I replaced my stock interior lighting under the dash with some white bulbs. It turned our great and it looks real clean in there now. I want to find a way to run some wires so i can have these lights under my front seat so it glows on the floor of the rear seats. whats the easiest way? My dad recomended just splicing the new wires into the stock wires and run new bulbs to the seats.

how would you recomend doing this? and what lights would you recomend [links]. Im not looking for a blue neon or red neon, just some bright white lights, like xenons almost.

not really underglow, just like a basic white interior light. i like the way it fills the floor and id like them in the rear.

Are you running LED's? if they are led's then it shouldnt be a problem just splicing into the stock wires.

If not leds, the extra current draw on the stock wires might be alittle too much, which could be avoided by adding a relay.

Do you have any specs on the bulbs?

i dont, but i thought that too. that the extra bulbs will cause me to blow the fuse all the time, i figured id just upgrade a 10A fuse to a 15. They arent leds, they are the stock bulb sockets, i just replaced the stock bulbs with white bulbs.

have you thought about using some sort of neon tube thingy. I saw them in white before. These would have a smaller current draw than a regular incandesent bulb.

I wouldnt recommend going with a higher fuse, it might draw too much current for the wires, which might cause a fire or something.

How many extra bulbs would you be adding?

I guess that shouldnt be too bad. I'd try adding the 2 extra bulbs real quick and connect it up and see if it blows the fuse. If it does, then you'll probably want to add a relay.

do you have an ohm meter? If you do, whats the resistance of one of the new bulbs?

i dont have an ohm meter.

ill take your advice on hooking htem up momentarily first, but where is a place where i can buy the sockets/bulbs. i can find a bulb pretty easily, but i dont know what kind of socket to use.

^ your blue sig looks like a UFO.....
I was playin around with a fog machine

Here's a pic without that much fog.

There's more pics here if anyone cares...http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/435572/2

as for the sockets, what kind of bulbs are they? A junkyard run might be your best bet. There's a local yard that I go to for unusal parts, they just let me go pull it myself.

theres not a specific bulb yet.

im looking for a bulb and socket i can mount under my front seat that i can run off splicing through the stock wires.

get one of these for SIX dollars

it runs on 12v (works fine with 14.4v) they really fill the car with alot of light. WAY stronger than neon tubes (these are COLD CATHODE LIGHTS) and emit almost ZERO heat.

thats my brothers trunk with two blue ones *DURRING THE DAYTIME*. its about time those god **** trunk tension bars were useful for somthing... i gave you a link to two white ones. just wire them into your interior light fuse, attach the switch that comes with the kit somewhere under the dash (id prolly do it under\left of the steering wheel) and mount them eaither up under the dash on each side (you CAN extend the two wires with a bit of solder and shrinkwrap so they may reach further) or maybe attach them under the driver\passanger seats?

would look really cool... and these are wicked easy to impelement.
