Can you solve it?
Need input from anyone using the Q6600 on here. I have not been following up on chipsets lately so I need to know a solid board. Only minor OC planned but I would like RAID built in as well as GB-NIC.

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the q6600 is NOT to high price imo. Have you thought about the AMD Phenoms tho? Frys has a deal for the 9500 and an Asus M2A-VM for only 299. Im not a huge fan of frys but thats an awesome deal...

Sorry I didn't get back to this for awhile (end-of-month here and busy). Price to performance nothing can touch the quad core Q6600 right now. I build from the ground up everytime so getting a chip that won't work with anything else in a year or two won't bother me. This is actually going to be my girls pc. I'm not a fan of Asus, but anything other than that, let me know what models are working best for ya.

Phenoms are pretty nice and also a bit cheaper. They are also a bit slower (almost exactly to the price). I can get the Q6600 for 279 shipped. Thinking back on my X4400, I paid around 400 for that thing and this quad is much faster than that.

Found this Q6600 pre built on new egg.

Daddy like. How much you guys think it would cost to build this?
Q6600 $289

MSI P6N Diamond $224

8800gtx $449

Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme HD Audio $69

ABS Tagan ITZ1100 1100W Power Supply $269

ZALMAN CNPS9500 AT 2 Ball CPU Cooling Fan/Heatsink $44

Windows Vista Home Premium $299

18X DVD±R DVD Burner $29-$99

2gb ddr 1066 (doesn't say what brand) $100-$200

500GB SATA 7200RPM (again no brand specified) $100-$200

So that's 1872 before taxes and shipping. (Using the least priced RAM,Optical, and HDD I could find on newegg)
