Insurance

So I'm under 21 and got a 30 over speeding ticket(middle of the night on a road with no houses). I was on my dad's insurance but he took me off. Due to sports I wasn't able to work enough to pay for it(was only making about $150 a month). I'm going to be working more so I'm looking into getting insurance.

Anyone with similar age/driving record want to give me a general amount I'll be looking at.

I drive an old Mitsubishi montero and just need liability.

much cheaper.
but lesson learned?

Hopefully.
Thats why I said if its been a while, if this happened like a few days ago you may want to wait a while before asking or it may delay your progress //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm not going to freeload off my dad especially if it's really expensive.

Don't really plan on speeding anymore, again I wasn't doing that through a school zone at 3pm, it was on a rural road with no houses or other cars(except the cop hiding in a little turnout behind the trees).

Just wondering what others with a big ticket on their record pay for insurance

It's been about 5 months since it happened

Well to give you an idea when I was 16 I got caught going 25 over it was I think 2 points on my record and meant about a $300-350 increase a year in what I paid before.

I was not suggesting your dad pay for it just insure it under his name and put you on as an occasional driver will still be much cheaper.

you arent going to get even a round about quote here...shop around in your area...only advice i can give you...make sure you get insurance right away though...its non insurance having mother f*ckers who get into accidents and force people to dip into their own pockets to pay for s*it...

I haven't driven my car since the insurance was cancelled.

im 19 and I have a very shitty driving record. My insurance on an old Chevy corsica was $1300/year for only liability. For the past 3 years I have had a clean driving record. I have a new vehicle (last year) and now my prices have dropped to $1200/year for full coverage on my new vehicle.
