Installing New Amp & sub need help

Okay so currently i have a 4ch amp installed with a 4 gauge power cable and 100 fuse by the battery. Problem is i'm installing a new Hifonics 1000w amp and the other amp is probably putting out about 400w. the power cable is probably about 7-10ft long.

1st question:

Will the 4 gauge power cable be enough to get me the 1400w or do i need 2 or 0 gauge?

2nd question:

the 2 amps together have a fuse rating of 120 do i need to get a bigger fuse at the front by the battery like 120 or 150?

3rd question:

I know i need a distribution block but i dont know much about them. do fused distribution blocks come with the fuses already or do you need to buy fuses for them as well?

Sorry im new to this all and i thought i had it under control but now i'm starting to get overwhelmed :S

If its d@mn good 4 gauge at that lenght its probably ok... I fuse for the wire I use personaly... and I dont plan on using a fused distro just a solid distro but you may be told you should go fused
what this guy said haha

i make use a distro for my power and ground. one has 1/0 going in and then the ground has the grounds of the 2 amps going in, then 1/0 grounded nicely to my frame.

its just stinger 4gauge from best buy soooo probably not that good lol. So would you say i should go to 2 or 0 gauge?

would i be right in saying for 4 gauge i should have a 150amp fuse?

what are the pros and cons to fused vs non fused?

and another question lol i wasn't going to use a distro on the ground i was just going to drill another whole into my car and put it there. Is there any problem with that?

I think thats probably CCA so you may wanna go with some 1/0 gauge and then maybe use your old wire for the Big 3... Depends on if the wire you use is CCA or OFC and the wire brand since they will hold different amps... fused just adds another fuse if you get a short thatll go instead of somthing else

okay sounds good i got a friend with some 1/0gauge wire i can use.

as for the distro when you buy them fused what fuses do they have in them? that whole distro thing confuses me lol

as for the fuse by the battery even at 1/0 gauge will 150amp fuse be good enough?

alright thanks for all the help so far, i'm feeling a lot better about it all now... just one more thing for now that i'm not sure about. If i use 1/0 gauge wire with 150amp fuse by the battery will the wire be too much for the fuse since 1/0gauge is rated to be like 300+amps?
