Installing Head Unit

Hey I had a problem putting in my head unit. There doesnt seem to be any power going into it. I wired everything right and all and still there is no power. I tried plugging my stock radio back into the stock plug and that wouldnt work either. I wonder if something got fried or what. Let me know if you have any suggestions. I checked the fuse and all too. Thanks...

are you sure you check all the fuse? including the fuse in the stock fuse box?

I checked the fuse box thats right under my dash.... the fuse was blown put i replaced it and it still didnt work..... are there any other fuses that could have blown or what...... i cant figure out what the problem is..... is it possible that something in the stock wiring harness shorted out or what..... there are two inline fuses that are tapped right into the main harness and they were blown too but i replaced those... they were supposed to have 3 amp fuses in them but i didnt have any so i just used bigger fuses... is that ok to do.... let me know someone please.. i need some help bad......

You want to avoid putting bigger fuses in, that may very well destroy your equipment. My suggestion is, rewire it all to the fuse box yourself, be sure not to attach a remote wire to a constant wire, I have known of that causing fuses to blow.

when the fuses blew for your radio, did anything else stop working? also most head units have 2 positive wires, a switch and a constant...you may run constant straight to the battery, the switch can hook into the fuse box, to a terminal that only has current while the car is on....to me it sounds like something is shorting out somewhere...be sure you have a good ground also.

If you want to check the head unit, take it out hook both switch and constant (of the head unit) to the battery+ and the ground to the battery-, and see if it turns on.
