Installing Fosgate single T215D2 for sub, 2 JL w312's for mid bass

Ok, I have a lot of extra gear from truck I competed with years ago and want to redo my system in my avalanche. I currently have 4 w3 12's in the truck off an Orion 2150sx amp. I cannot run these anylonger as 2 are 2ohm and 2 are 4ohm. I have it wired for an impediance the amp likes but I know, its a no no.

So...new system plan. I love low bass, the kind that rattles your head, but also crave punchy bass that hurts your head (if I had to choose only 1 then I'd choose punchy). Anyway...I was wanting to use a single Fosgate 15" in their Powerbox (slot vent) configuration off an Orion 2100HCCA I have, pushing around 120hz and lower. I would like to have a sealed enclosure on each side of the 15 for a 12" running off of my Orion 2150sx amp and have it running 120hz up to what, 500hz? My front stage would stay the same with 6.5's in the 4 doors and misc tweeters installed all running from a 4 channel amp. Crossing over using either a mixture of passive and/or my several audiocontrol products.

Will this be ok...since they are running off different amps, in different fequencies? What challenges or changes should I consider? I also will be upgrading my power as the 2100hcca pulls massive amounts of juice, so that will happen. So the box will actually be 3 separate boxes - (12)(15)(12). I have not heard the T215D2 yet...I hear they pound pretty hard.

Thanks!!

Don't do it. This can cause cancellation issues and is a even bigger no no than mixing impedances. Get a better sub than the rockford and get a quality box design and u should be able to cover both punchy and low bass. I would grab a pair of nice twelves and run them in 4 cubes ported to 33hz. With that particular tuning u can reach pretty much all the low notes and you should easily reach the high bass. 30-80or100 is what subs should cover you can go lower but you ears cant pick up much lower and any higher should be covered by your mid-bass door speakers and tweeters

I've read several forums and there have been a lot of write ups where if done properlyW there wouldnt be cancelation...since the woofers would all be running different frequencies. A better sun than the rockford?? I've heard a single 15 with less power than I have and it pounded far more than my 4 older w3 12's. Its an incredibly well built sub...why dont you like it?

Well I have to get rid of 2 12's anyway..so I am left with 2 in the truck. should I just eliminate the 12's and run just the 15?

Just run the 15 in a proper box. And for 700 I can get much better sub than the Rockford. My rival shop in town has sold a few of them and everytime the customer comes to my shop asking why it doesn't hit as hard as the two ten in my shop car that cost 500 and require less amp. I say get rid of all the 12s and pick up two nice twelves from sound solutions audio and enjoy the superior quality. Rockford makes awesome but expernsive amps but their speakers aren't all that great u pay for looks and plastic not a well designed sub

Well I picked the Rockford up for 250 dollars, it was used in system for 6 months (small amp too), then my friend went thru a divorce....so it was hard to beat that price. I like the W3's...and it hits hard now, but it seems I always want more. So, if I wire up a single dvc 2ohm speaker to my Orion 2100hcca amp (yes old school but I've owned it since new and has less than 100 hrs of use)...it is supposed to run 1600x1@1ohm, however I have heard different specs that state the 2100hcca is rated at 100x2@4ohm; 200x2@2ohm; 400x2@1ohm or Bridged: 400x1@4ohm; 800x1@2ohm; 1600x1@1ohm. Other sources say its only stable at 2ohms bridged. Anyone know for sure? I dont want to toast this thing. Also...I obviously need to increase my power in the truck (Avalanche)...see a lot of high output alternators on ebay...can anyone suggest a decent but affordable unit? When I was running 2 of these plus the 2150 and two 280gx's in 1992 in my show truck I had 5 special oil batteries, 0 guage going everywhere, and a phoenix gold 180amp alt which still wasnt enough...didnt have as much technology as we do now. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif it still pounded my 8 12's pretty hard and often blew the cone out of the speaker cage if I got crazy with it (Techmaster PEB did it often).
