Installing a second battery.

I was given a free battery, thats almost brand new. Im going to put it under my hood along with my other battery. When adding the second, do i have to run a ground from one post to the other(like i would do the hot side), or can i chassis ground it? quick response would be AWESOME! thanks alot, ED

you would have had a quicker response asking me personally but...

a wire from one battery would be best but chassis ground will work just fine.

im just about to install a second battery today as well, and i was wondering the same thing. Since im running 1/0 gauge i dont want to run another one up to the battery negative. Chasis ground is what im going to do.
