I'm pretty much an amateur tinkerer in the car audio realm. I've done several installs in previous cars but basically just good at following directions from mastersheets etc.
Here's my problem. I just bought an 05 honda pilot that has the factory stereo, dvd player (for the rear entertainment system(RES)) and a 6 disk changer (all stock). I have a Pioneer DEH-980BT that i pulled out of my old car that got totalled and i want to install it in the pilot but would like to keep access to dvd player and 6 disk changer. What additional equipment should i need so everything will still work?
also, it has aux inputs on the back of the arm rest that tie into the RES for hooking up a game console etc.
if all of the additional goodies were aftermarket i would assume the Pioneer aux input module would work, but i have no clue what the connections look like for the dvd player (& aux input), and cd changer (the connections to the back of the factory H/U).
and lastly (yes i know i'm asking for alot being a noob here and all) the factory h/u has a button that allows you to grant control to the rear (controls on the dvd monitor itself) and it also allows for you to kill the rear speakers when the dvd player is playing (as the sound is sent to the wireless headphones). would any of this functionality still work?
thanks for any and all help anyone can provide.
