installing 4 ch amp

Installing a small temp. 4 channel amp with stock speakers.. I don't have enough speaker wire for 4 runs from the amp to the dash to splice into behind there.. so can I just tap into each speaker from the floor on the bottom of each door where the original speaker wire runs? If so behind the dash do I have to cut out the original wire? because behind the head unit it's all on a plug with power/ground etc... so rcas and speaker wire would both be connected to the head unit.. Does that work? or do i need to explain better?
