So inorder to try to bring new blood into the industry on our small island and establish some of the basics of good design and install, I though I might give this a try. Please read be open and give me your feedback.
I was going to have a competition where the playing field is fairly level and the design and install make the difference between winning and losing. I am thinking of having the competition set up so that once you pay your fee, you would recieve a sub/amp combo. You can do anything you want to acheive max spl, but you can only use the sub and amp supplied. It would level the playing field kinda like nascar does for racing, in nascar it is the setup and driver that makes the majority of the difference rather than the engine. Well with this it is the design and installation that makes the difference.
i was thinking of starting with a very small format, so the cost would be very minimal, no electircal up grades needed, and basically anyone with a mom or dad that has a car and a couple hundred $ could participate. my thoughs were in the lines of a low line 8 or 10" sub and a 300-500watt class D amp to match.
