Baffles help compensate for sizing diferences between the stock opening and aftermaket speakers. They help decrease the mounting depth, and, when used with a healthy amount of non-hardening modelling clay (between the door & baffle, & between the speaker and baffle), help further eliminate unwanted resonance in the door caused by the speaker by acting as a decoupler.I would like to ask a silly question. Your post says you installed these speakers with MDF Baffels. Was that just your way to attach them to the door or is there some other reasoning behind using these baffels? SQ? or what?
Im pretty sure you can use alot of things besides MDF baffles... I didnt use them for SQ enhancement... I used them so my windows would go all the way down. I deadened my doors to improve the SQ(Bass response)I would like to ask a silly question. Your post says you installed these speakers with MDF Baffels. Thanks in advance

yep.to bring umm up off the straight metal i assume so the window still closes and what not
Its a 1992 civic...The crossovers are not in the way of the door shutting....Man, that looks really nice... I love the tweeter placement... not so much for sound, but for looks that looks great... what vehicle is this?
Oh and yes... move your crossovers, shutting the door is going to eventually probably give you problems... again, looks good.
