I think I'm back to the drawing board on this sub thing. Either that, or I'm still a total noob. Here's the scene: I have a 1.75cu box w/a flared port made for my 10" sub. Did the calcs in winISD and verified in detail with bassbox pro 6 (I think that's the name of it, can't remember right now). I have the MidQ insert in the sub and the box is tuned at 23hz. Totally flat response from 32hz on up. Not shooting for a one note wonder, just some good backfill for my trailblazer. Powered by a RF T400-2 bridged, sub is getting 512 RMS at 2 ohms.
The problem is that while I get a generally clean response in the 60-125 range, I am distorting below that. I know that the type of music I listen to (which is literally everything exept death metal and country)and the format it's in adds to the fray, so is there any advice on how to tighten the response and keep it flat at the same time for the 30-60hz range? Even if I gotta have another box built, I need some ideas. Sealed doesn't do it, the first ported sucked @$$, and this one is good to a point.
