I know this applies for dealerships. I got screwed over on buying a car from a private seller. Seller did not mention anything to me about what was wrong with the car. Car is acting up when cold but fine when warm. I signed a bill of sale saying the car is being sold as is, no warrenty or returns of any sort on the vehicle. Is there anything i can do to get a refund?

depending on the wording of the document you may have a lawyer review it.. but generally signing a bill of sale will mean you have screwed yourself depending on how much you paid for the car, and what kind of repairs are needed you may have a chance to fight it but i wouldnt hold my breath

paid 2800. Was told some ***** issue, needs new solenoid. Basically said "so and so is not responsible for any further problems with this car beyond this transaction. Car is being sold as is, and test droved it and no problems came up. No warrenty is avaliable after this transaction or refund or return of any sort...."

Used cars are sold as is in the first place weather you signed a bill of sale or not. Atleast here in MI. When I sold my car I also had the new owner sign a bill of sale anyways.

The only way you could sue is if you could prove that the previous owner knew what was wrong and failed to tell you about it.

How would i be able to prove it? That would be very hard. I test drove it and everything seemed fine. They told me they had no problem with the car.

if the torque converter stays locked up. Or if the ****** is in fail safe mode. Pretty much like stopping a manual car without pushing the clutch, and going not from 1st gear but from 3rd
