ok...i want to get somthing small and simple for my dad for x-mass i was lookin at the infinity basslink, but there is a basslink, a basslink (x), and a bigger one the (T) modle with 50 more watts. how is the quality of the bass link? do they get loud at all?, and also i heard that there is a defect on the (T) modle is this true??

more or less im asking if buying a infinity basslink is worth the money???

anyone that can help me out that would be awsome!!

they sound terrible

i work at circuit city - and from my expierence, we have only sold one - and the guy returned it because it sounded like ***.

get a RLI-10 or an Oaudio10 (http://www.oaudio.com) and a profile AP700M (http://www.millionbuy.com) and a 8 guage kit from wallieworld and slap it in a 1.0cf sealed box. shouldnt be more than $150~250 (depending on the Oaudio or the RLI that is lol)

I had one in my Civic, and I don't think it sounded bad at all. It is an excellent way to add sub-bass for low cost. It is not extremely loud (plenty loud in the car- but you won't hear it blocks away) but fairly musical- I think they sound better than a lot of peoples half-*** uncarpeted boxes with some crappy amp, and it's very simple to hook up, and gets really good sound for the size and money. When I finished out my stereo I sold the basslink to a guy I worked with, and he loves it too. I think it is a great compliment to a factory stereo (or a stereo with upgraded speakers but no amp driving them) but as the rest of the system grows it has difficulty kepping up with amplified comps, etc. What kind of car is it for? If you corner load it in a hatchback/SUV it will have really good output from all the reflections- a good example of this is placing a home subwoofer in the corner rather than the middle of the room- it gets a lot boomier. I easily reccomend the basslink- it's a great product for the money, and as much sub as a lot of people need.

This would be a great solution- and just because some circuit city guy says one guy brought one back because it sounded bad- how do you know that guy had a clue what he was doing. It is easy to make ANY sub sound like *** IMO, but with a bit of tuning and experimenting most can sound pretty good- you should get it for your dad, it would be much smaller, easier, less complex than buying all the gear, building a box, and installing it all, and it make not look as clean as the Infinity.

I am VERY familiar with all 3 of those.

The origional basslink - an ok self amped sub - the best that CC used to sell, but still fell miserably short of even a sealed bazooka sub... Moderate output

The Basslink T - there are no defect inherent to this line. this model uses a single 10 and a pair of 10" passive radiators and 300 watts. Sounds dang good for a preloaded prefab self amped unit. Worth the money - however it is wide - about 36" wide.

The Basslink X/2 - HUGE improvement over the origional basslink - still not quite up to par with our kicker gear but sounds dang good for what it is.

lol - I install the stuff and have personally played with all 3...lol yeah ignore what I say. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

x2, when I got my bimma one was included. When I talked to the guy he was talking about this banging system in there, get there to see his $900, which included an old *** alpine deck(lower line) and a basslink //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. Thing was a piece of shit. Do what req said. Buy a cheaper smaller sub and smaller amp and you'll most likely have much better results.

Basslinks are for peeps who dont take BASS as serious as us CarAudio.com peeps

However they are cheap simple and easy to install...

You could easily out do a basslink with what I like to call a "Basslink Killer" for about 250 bucks at IkeSound.com,I have made many for friends and they give the user a way better sub and its very simple as :

heres one I did once all bought at IkeSound

$139.00 Alpine MRP-M350 AMP

$ 63.00 Alpine SWS-1041D SUB

$ 23.00 Raptor RAP101 1.2cu foot enclosure

$ 35.00 Misc wire
