Infiniti Qx4 (4) 15's Wall Re-Do. (Im bored log)

This is all for my Infiniti Qx4

Decided to re-do my wall, wasnt exactly happy with the lack of port with my last wall, nor how I couldnt have my seats up as the subs were to close, so I changed the design, different/more port and hopefully a better sounding box.

I also used 5/8" wood last time, stepped it up to 1" this time, as my buddy gets it for me for the cheapness.

Im assembling the box in the car this time, so I can get more height out of it, so as of right now I just mocked it up and held it together with L brackets. Will be glued/screwed and fiberglassed on the inside when Im done

Onto the pics

Old wall (sledgehammer to remove from car, was alot of fun lol)

I dunno about you guys, but Ive always had a cvnt of a time drawing large circles for my cutouts and such, I usually would just find something int he house with the exact diameter I was looking for, I got fed up with that, so I chopped of a piece of wood, countersunk/ jbwelded a big screw into one end, taped a pencil to the other side, and threw a bolt/nut through the middle, my ghetto protractor. Worked great for drawing accurate circles.

Sub baffle drawn out, inner ring is the cutout, outer is the outside sub diameter

Will mount like this is the car, bolted to a piece of metal that is bolted from side to side of the car I welded up, keeps both amps off of the box, within 1 1/4" clearance from the hatch

Thats basically where Im at right now, just gonna chow done on some lunch, then start plugging numbers into calculators to figure out my volume and work on a port design. Should have it done by monday ish depending on weather. Still deciding on what to do for beauty panels/port paint etc. And Ive gotta find some thick chop mat locally

EDIT: this stupid 10 pictures per post is BS

Ofcourse, just like I thought, it started freakin raining. I had my sub baffle and an entire sheet of mdf out there that got wet, so they might be ruined, I wiped them down and they were only getting rain for 3-5 min, but we'll see how much it swells... ****it

In those pics the pieces were just mocked up in place with L brackets, as I was just building on the fly trying to get as much volume as possible. Ive since went back, took it all apart and glued and screwed it though.

Havent made the front baffle/port/bracing yet though as I dont quite know how exactly its gonna be done, and i was redoing my headliner and it started raining, productive saturday though

Pretty basic electrical, going to be 2 blue tops and a huge reserve off the shelf battery all under the hood. Going to be doing the big 3 in 2/0 welding wire (already did 3 grounds with it, just need to do alt power wire) and the factory 110amp alt

I put the visonik on the furthest outside so it would get the most air flow, depending on how warm it gets where it is, I may end up adding a nice sized 12v fan inline with the remote to cool them. I mounted that amp ON the box last time, and it blew very fast, so I thought I might aswell mount off the box this time.

greatestpenn- no I dont need a bigger amp, this does 2200+ @ 2ohm, the Aq's get smelly after about 20 min full tilt as it is with this wattage, they dont need anymore, nor can my electrical handle it. I dip into the high 11's on the songs that wang, hoping the extra battery and big 3 help with that tho

are you doing more then 1 layer? because in my build I did 3 layers tons on glue and screws and yesterday i noticed the back of my box is moving enough to break loose the seam. so i now have 2 1" gas pipes from front to back and large 45's (17' wide) going from the side to the back and yes it did make a difference on the mic and to ear

That was a lot of bragging information....
