infection doesnt want to go away

I detected a virus and i tried to remove it by right-clicking it through my anti virus program and it removes but once i do a scan again in pickes it up again.

When i tried to manualy delete the virus by going to its location and when i rightclicked the file to delete this window came up

This is the window above that came up when i tried to manually delete the file. I had no idea what file that is and where it came from. If you have any thoughts or suggestions on what i can do to get this infection removed i will really appriciate it. I am on windows XP if it matters. THNX im looking foward into getting some feedback THNX again

click start, go to run, then type regedit. then click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER. then click software and see if you can find it in there. if you do right click then delete it will be gone after that.

EDIT:if not in there check LOCAL_MACHINE click software again and look.

not true. it locates its self into a file in the registery. if you can locate it in the registry you can get rid of it.

I got rid of pesky malware and such by using a combination of Anti-Rootkit, AntiMalware, and my Avast! antivirus software. Had the same problem and this seemed to do the trick.

boot in safe mode and try running anti-virus.

try that, if it doesnt work, try the other programs listed.

I find most of the time if a virus has breaced your antivirus you are not getting rid of it.
