In light of all the marijuana threads...no link between lung cancer and marijuana

i dont know why so many people on here are so against marijuana, i mean get over yourselves, yeah its a gateway drug but you also have to be a complete moron for it to actually lead to any other drug, plus its actually a really good stress reliever, and in every single possible way healthier and less harmful then ciggs

I agree, of course any kind of smoke is going to be bad for your lungs.
But I think the main point is to show that a drug which is supposed to be so bad for you is actually better than something that is legal.
i agree, but as any of us know, that makes no difference when it comes to changing societal views on something. you can't defend it medically. i personally believe that msg's and sugar are more harmful than weed, medically.

again, i smoke weed. comparing it to cigarettes isn't a defense.

RIght.

Of course you can also eat or drink weed and smoke with a vaporizer. That just about gets rid of the health argument entirely.

wow i love it, this shit actually turned out somewhat civilized haha. anyways, no thats not the reason i posted it up jonmrturbo. i just posted it up cause i find it kind of amazing. i never said it was totally safe, im just saying that i find it just crazy that you have tons of research on marijuana and yet its still illegal. come on. a 20 year study that results in a 20 fold increase in lung cancer in cigarette smokers...and no increase and a SUGGESTION OF A PROTECTIVE EFFECT for cannabis users?!?! the fact that they have found that canabonoids have reduced the size of tumors in mice? the fact that recent research suggests that cannabis can help DETER Alzheimer's? thats not amazing to anybody? especially (for the above article) the fact that this is a guy who works for our own government?

it still boggles the mind to me that you can put people in jail for smoking a an herb. i mean think about it...people are in jail for a plant. i dont remember where i read this but i read it somewhere

"doesn't the idea of making a plant that grows naturally on this earth illegal, seem a little...unnatural?"

Another myth.

"There is no scientific evidence for the theory that marijuana is a "gateway" drug. The cannabis-using cultures in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America show no propensity for other drugs. The gateway theory took hold in the sixties, when marijuana became the leading new recreational drug. It was refuted by events in the eighties, when cocaine abuse exploded at the same time marijuana use declined. As we have seen, there is evidence that cannabis may substitute for alcohol and other "hard" drugs. A recent survey by Dr. Patricia Morgan of the University of California at Berekeley found that a significant number of pot smokers and dealers switched to methamphetamine "ice" when Hawaii's marijuana eradication program created a shortage of pot.(15) Dr. Morgan noted a similar phenomenon in California, where cocaine use soared in the wake of the CAMP helicopter eradication campaign. The one way in which marijuana does lead to other drugs is through its illegality: persons who deal in marijuana are likely to deal in other illicit drugs as well."

blame our government for the mis-information. we all know how our government uses its bs and isnt ashamed. look at the FDA who had the balls to come out and say there is no medicinal value from marijuana just recently...yet research has been saying their is for years.

and there has been many ideas that such as the gate way drug theory that have been put to rest. another such myth, that smoking cannabis causes depression.

well, the FDA also approves many things no human should ever eat/drink/etc

when the govt figures out how they can market / control the market of marijuana they'll legalize it. until then they'll keep jailing people for it and collecting the fines.

I don't give a shit what someone choses to do on their own time. If you wanna smoke, go right ahead. I won't be.

I've had a few close friends lose complete contact because they started smoking non-stop, and fell into the stoner group and never came around, called, etc.

My g/f used to smoke occasionally, I told her do whatever you want, but if you're going to, just stay away from me- don't come over, don't expect to hang out with me when you're high, etc. I don't feel like dealing with people that smoke.

****, that sucks. I usually go through an ounce a week lol and yea, blunts arent really all that great. There are way too inefficient to waste weed on IMO.
wow, thats a lot of smoke. must be junk if you have to smoke that much.
