in-dash dvd ?

I am new to the caraudio forum. Forgive me if this is a dumb question.

I am looking at an in-dash vvideo reciever. In doing research I learned that there is a 'feature' that disables video unless the parking brake is engaged. Is this common to all in-dash recievers? If so, can it be bypassed?

Yea it can be bypassed but it varies with all different brands. Which one are u lookn at specifically

I was looking at a Jensen VM9312. Don't really need anything too high end. It will go in my wife's minivan, mostly to keep the kids entertained while on long road trips (vacations, etc.)

Yea you can bypass those but its not as simple as just grounding the parking break wire. If you search the 9312 youll find bypass instructions there.
