In Dash DVD , Clarion vs. Eclipse

I have used the clarion and loved the feel, didnt seem bad at all to me plus the ipod controls were fairly easy on it.

id say get the Clarion. Honestly the Sq beween the 2 units does not make the Eclipse worth as much more as they seem to go for. IPOD functionality on the Clarion is good, and all the tuning features are really easy to work with on a clarion.
Eclipse makes a quality unit , but i can never seem to find anything on an eclipse unit that will merit me spending the 400-800 dollars extra for it

Plus the Clarion reportedly has tremendous picture quality from it's screen. I see a lot of things hyped in here, and Eclipse falls into that boat, but Clarion has been a top flight HU company for well over a decade. BUT, if you're in love with Eclipse, then get an Eclipse.

nice price for a new non-refurb unit. I wouldnt have eventhought twice about it. Keep us posted when you hook it up, although i've played with that unit alot on a sound board, i dont have mine yet.

anyone know how to bypass he parking brake on the clarion? dont want to mess with haaving to hook it up to the parking brake lol

nice unit,but i think i would have looked at pioneers too.

hook a wire to ground,run it to a switch.hook brake lead to other side of switch.

when do you turn the switch on/off to make it work properly?

do I leae the switch in the off position (not grounded) when the car is off then when I fire it up flip the switch to ground?

I cant remember for sure, but I dont think you even need the switch on the Clarions. I think you can just perma ground the p-brake wire

well I want to know for sure I just want to do the install once I dont want to have to go back in and re do it and I really do not want to pull off the ebrake not to mention that my parking break switch is screwy anyway so I need to bypass it
