get some weight out of it. don't drive aggressively. make sure your air/fuel filters are good. make sure tires are inflated fully.

take everything that is not needed out such as passenger seats will lightin it up

Avoid fast acceleration... Whenever I'm in gas saving mood, I try not to rev my engine over 3000 rpm

Not sure how tuned your car is from the factory, but take some connection cleaner (don't feel like googleing it) and clean all the electrical connectors. If there's a lot of corrosion on the wire connects, your ecu won't be getting as good of a reading.
