do those actually work? and could i get one at my local autoparts store?

From the experience of the one I own - no. I read somewhere that older vehicle (1980~ish and down) will benefit the most from them.

PS: They can be made with tin and tin snips.

Nope.. I dont hit anyone with mine. My boss's son hit my son's car once with his SUV and I saw how it pissed him off, so I'm really careful not to open the door to fast.

All it really takes is not being a jackass and you dont hit anyones car

Yeah this gas thing is getting out of hand!

All I know is I have a brand new car and I am supposed to get between 320/430 miles on a full tank. I am only getting 280 so far and that is the most. I have 2200 miles on it. I am so pissed! Least my other car I got 330city and 500 highway. SHIT!
