Impressive Loudspeaker?

The shape of the speaker looks pretty knocked off, and not even knocked off close to right.... I understand the 15" for the lows but the 15" for the mids coupled with the tweeter is going to be lacking in some areas.... Plus, if you look at the interior supports they are going to have HUGE amounts of reflection through the 15"....

snip from link ...

For me this is one of the most impressive loudspeaker High End audio projests ewer.

I don't see anything sweet other than good woodworking. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

I don't see two 15" woofers in the CAD drawing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

From tweeter to 15" driver, yikes.

Yer right, there be the hole in the CAD pic on the bottom of the box.

Now that two 15" drivers confirmed, eeek... ?

You have crazy cross bracing for a curved enclosure that may not need anything

so estoeric and takes up space. The 15" midrange chamber is dinky, standing

wave chaos and I can never imagine 15" midrange integrating with that dinky

tweeter. It's going to sound horrible even if that magic 15 driver was elite

in design, and it isn't.

The comedy. They claim that design is from an Explorer design, a design not

in production. Duh. Who would be brave enough to market that design

/hehe

According to the article showing the build (which is down right now as I tried to view it) they say that the volume they are creating on the inside of the box is meerly for the sub. The tweeter and midrange "need no volume" they say. If you look at the CAD drawing, the front where the 15 midrange is placed is completely blocked off from the internals with some wood, sealing it off from the main cavity with all the bracing.

Since when do midranges need no volume? Crazy if you ask me....

The odd part. They claim they use B&W as a listening reference and auditionedthe dual 15, single tweeter Explorer loudspeaker and liked it. I can't imagine

that happening.
There are people who like Blows (I mean bose) and I really can't believe that happens either. I think its a shame all that awesome wood working skills are going to nothing...
