Importants or NON importance of amp fans

too fans? ..... sigh

I'd say they help, they vent out hot air that the amps DO cause in that class. I mean.. unless you want them to shut off for thermal reasons.

They wrk... If u really wanna keep them cool swap fans for some with a higher cfm.... May be louder but they can move some air.
Agreed, though I wonder the cfm of the stock ones to begin with. Would be good info to know. I have a ton of xfx 40cm and 60cm lol. free with rebates so I stocked up.

EDIT: 12k posts woot.

o ok what would something like the best one for me cost?
not that much, fans they use are a smaller size usually. figure out it's size and check some sites like newegg.com etc to get a general idea. google cfm and such too for more info on that.

With my old Sax-125.2 being a class A/b it ran like a grill in the summer times.. Seriously I could cook food on it.. I added two 120MM fans one pushing and one pulling with a plexi cover and a filter to keep dust out and even on the hottest days it would stay cool to the touch..

Edit: Fans for me are not a determining factor for amps, if they come with them that's cool but if they don't I really don't fret about it too much. It can get hot here in Missouri, I'll add fans if I need to.

gramma not two importants. while external fans are not real great for instant heat transfer, it does get the hot air away from the amp, so it can continue to run high power without overheating. the old school directed 1100d's would survive running at enough heat to burn skin, and that is probably whi most i have seen have melted torroid and fet connections. some old school amps like the ms/mps amps sold a box with fans to go around the amp as the low impedance "kit"
