Important! Is this the only way panasonic?

i dont think its going to work no matter how lng you keep it off. It says try holding the joystick over to the right for about 10 seconds but you need the remote to power it on. You may be stuck until you can get the remote. Thats what i am going to try once i get the wiring harness for mine.

 
Well that didnt work. And panasonic said i had to fax my receipt before they can tell me the over ride feature. And since i dont have a regular receipt since it was bought from ebay i guess im screwed.

 
after browsing fixya all morning seems like its just a simple security feature and all i need is the remote to turn the screen back on and enter the code.

 
Well i borrowed a remote and hit the power button on it and the id code screen popped right up. Put my code in and the unit started functioning like normal! crazy how that works
