It seems like a cycle. You get a setup, fall in love, and then get bored with it. So you upgrade. Then you fall in love, but get used to it, and get something louder. This continues forever doesn't it?

I'm not mad or anything. But i'm eventually going to be deaf.

i was talking about stereos, but as i was typing i was actually thinking someone was going to think of girls. haha. even myself, by the time i finished, i thought i was talking about girls. just about everything applies to both.

especially the deaf part.

same way here, only thing that i think would please me is like 4 LMS ultra 18's 4 sundown 3000's . If i could ever do that then i think i would be happy. hell even 4 hdc3 18's would suffice

its funny this thread popped up i was just advising a guy thats new to the hobby to take his time and save up money and buy good stuff now because its just a matter of time before hes going to want to upgrade. at least if he buys good stuff now hell have something with some resale value to it.

ok, lol

girls ****, i have been in long lasting realtionships since i have been in high school (I graduated in 98) for the past year and a half I have been free and love it

and yea, its an addiction, it never ends, you change shit, make it louder, change setups, sell shit, find a deal on shit and buy it, etc.. its a hobby ( an expensive one )

Kinda funny I have been out the game for a while, car audio got me into the whole car thing, well the past year and a half or so I have been back in it, makes ya wonder

stop calling it a hobby. hobby suggests it s a good thing. addiction is more like it. something that costs me thousand and mental anguish and very little happiness thats a full blown addiction lol

and for all the guys out there that say women **** it only sucks if you got the wrong one. once you find the right one things are great. 6 years with the wrong one and i wanted to kill her for like 4 of them, 3 years with the right one and ive never been happier.

Not getting into the whole girl thing.

However, the loudness factor, just depends I guess. I have had cars over 150dbs and sounded good, but eventually got to be too much, especially when you have your car stolen with over 5k in audio. Makes you rethink your situation.................a little bit, lol! I am more into SQ sound and I don't need to be loud. I am trying to blend my sub in with my front stage and I am getting there. Maybe getting old, just sucks, who knows.

I do enjoy loud bass still though. My buddy has 150 setup I cruise with once in a while. I hate getting in my car after that, lol!

Haha. I'm very happy that I am not alone in my feelings. And I've had my setup for about 5 months now and I'm ready for something new. I don't have enough money yet though. I want to save enough to get something that is going to keep me happy for a while. Also, I'll probably be getting a new car soon too so I don't really want to have to put the same system in twice.

But I guess my point is, louder is always better. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you dont get bored with it... its usually just fine... BUT.... you get more money!!!, then you have to upgrade cause you can afford what you wanted last time, but couldn't get at the time....thats the cycle..at least for me

Oysters make pearls one layer of nacre at a time. That's how I have gone from a 12-disc CD changer standing alone to an amp/speaker setup to a HU/equalizer to an iPod/cable setup to wind up where I am now. Next up is a sub/amp later in the year.

What follows after that? I was listening to a killer setup in a F-150 Lobo and found the SQ from the door mounted speakers incredible, so that is one path to research although 1991 Cadillac Broughams don't have much in terms of door space to work with. Later on a HU upgrade to cover HD Radio/satellite could happen, especially if HD Radio shows up in my market.

Once I get to 2010 I'll have some "new and improved" things to consider no doubt! Mobile audio is more of a blast than ever with cool stuff always coming down the pike. We're living in the best of times tech-wise and I'm loving every minute!

Rick
