even if he gave you complete evidence, there would still be doubt-ers

in the bible it says thomas (one of jesus's disciples) didn't believe it was jesus (even when he saw him) untill he touched the wholes in his hands...

people that say "i need more evidence" seem blind to me... just look around! all the evidence you need is the universe!

check out like 10-12 pages back where you werent around last night. me and like 2 other people both argued that.

i saw something 10 pages back that brought me to a new point... as far as pastors and their role go...

the role of a pastor is to provide a perspective, a form of accountability...

if one is accountable only to themself, then there is room for a losening of morals

but when someone else holds you accountable you are more likely to retain that accountablillity...

think about the laws...

we all know they exist but if there was no one to inform us of them and enforce them, we would be much less likely to follow them...

people are (sadly), as a rule, quite satisfied whith apathy, and if left to themselves might never read the bible or any religious work... a pastor's job or "calling" is to keep that desire and focus from shifting...

some (most) do it for the wrong reasons though

We have free will, so how can it be messed with like that? And why is going to church so relevant to believe and have faith in divinity? Does not going to church make a believer less of a believer?

we DO NOT have free will, we have VOLITION...

i have the will to sprout wings and fly, yet it doesn't happen...

i only have the ability to choose from options given to me...

they are very different concepts

sorta... i do believe alot of the bible, because it does seem inspired by the super-natureal and the concept of jesus seems awkard or odd but it is a logical conclusion that can be drawn, thus from my system of beliefs most of the bible does not contradict what my logic tells me is likely so i believe it....

yet it is man-made so i would not tell someone else they should believe it...

i would challenge you to before consideringthe bible to first really think about the abstract concepts of the beginnings of the universe, it really isn't logical for a god not to exist... untill you can except that fact, don't even bother with the bible...

it will only turn you away and close your mind to this inevitable likelyhood of a GOD
